Dutch born Lia Laimbock graduated from the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague in 1988. A series of 8 (7 life-size) authors portraits are in the Museum of Literature in The Hague. In 2005 she won the Dutch Biennale of Figurative Art in The Netherlands. The Columbus Cube Continium Museum exhibits her inauguration double life-size portrait of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. 

She was a master teacher for the final year students at the Classical Academy in Groningen before moving to Ireland in 2017. Her works are in museum collections and private collections in Europe and abroad. She finds inspiration in people, animals and nature. Painting large scale as well as miniatures, flower paintings and flower soft pastels, fabric collages and occasional ceramics.
