Eilis is a landscape artist based outside Newbridge. Her work is inspired by the beauty of the local countryside and bog lands, the West of Ireland and her various Camino Trips. Her collection is a personal response to the scenes she encounters in everyday life which she captures in her work. Eilis is motivated by the need to paint for her own and others pleasure and she hopes that her paintings will speak to those who view them.
Eilis is actively involved in the Art Scene in Kildare. She identified the need and sourced a space for Local Artists to showcase their work back in 2018 when she established PopUpArt Newbridge and continues to source venues to enable the wealth of “untapped” Kildare Connected artists the opportunity to showcase their work to wider audiences than previously available to them.
Eilis facilitates and curators the successful PopUpArt Newbridge collective and continues to promote and run a minimum of four exhibitions annually at various venues within the county including the Whitewater Shopping Centre, Riverbank Arts Centre, McAuley Place, Charlotte Mall and Newbridge Town hall to name but a few.
Despite Covid, Eilis continued to support the “Kildare Connected” collective by establishing the successful popupartnewbridge.com virtual Gallery website in June 2021 and successfully organised, coordinated and ran 4 well received Popup Art Newbridge exhibitions during 2021, 2022, 2023 2024 and 2025.

Title: Hill of Allen Tower – St. Brigid’s Lightup
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 30cm x 30cm
Framed
SOLD
The painting is from a photo taken by Mark McGuire with his kind permission.
The historic Tower on the Hill of Allen, locally known as “Aylmer’s Folly” was built in 1798 on the grounds. According to legend; Fionn mac Cumhaill had a fortress on the surrounding flatlands using the land as training grounds for his warriors. On the feast of St Brigid, the Tower is lit up and many living in the surrounding areas, me included, can enjoy the night lights emanating from it.

Title: Donnelly’s Hollow, Curragh
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 30 x 30cm
Framed
Price: €230
Dan Donnelly was Ireland’s greatest bare-knuckle fighter of the 19th century. his second and most famous fight with George Cooper took place in the spot in 1814 where his monument now stands. As children, our parents often took us to Donnelly’s Hollow on Sunday, for a run around, follow the footsteps (which are still evident today) of the great man and picnic. These were fond memories which I cherish to this day.
